Colchester Institute is seeking creative practitioners to join our Art & Design department for the academic year 2024-25. This is an exciting opportunity for local creatives to share their skills and knowledge in return for access to a creative community and use of a wide range of facilities and resources.
We particularly welcome individuals who have an interest in teaching and in fostering creativity in young people.
During the residency programme, you will:
- Be present for at least 1 day, or 2 half days a week (schedule to be agreed upon appointment).
- Share your expertise through the delivery of workshops to both staff and students.
- Make use of the facilities and/or studio space to develop your own creative practice on a regular basis.
- Adhere to and promote the College’s Safeguarding, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, College Values and Health and Safety policies and practices.
- Ensure good health and safety practices by adhering to local area codes of practices and all other related College Health & Safety policies, including completion of Portable Appliance Testing on electrical equipment.
Facilities available to you:
- Professional equipped printmaking workshops (with provision for screen printing, letterpress, textile printmaking, risograph, intaglio and relief).
- Professional equipped 3D workshops (with access to woodworking, metal work and plastics processes).
- High Spec computer suites with Adobe CC software.
- Professionally equipped Ceramics workshop (with access to pottery wheel, casting, glasswork, and a variety of kilns).
- Professionally equipped Photography studios and darkrooms.
