Daniela Tasca York, BA (Hons) Fashion and Textiles, graduated 2009
“My tutors gave me the confidence to enter the world of fashion and interior design. In my final year, I won the Graduate Fashion Week Protégé Project and worked at Matches Fashion. After winning BBC2’s ‘The Great Interior Design Challenge’ I have now started my own interior design business.”
David Michael Hands, BA (Hons) Musical Theatre alumni starring in Jersey Boys (International Tour, 2018)
“Just over a year from graduating, I feel so blessed with the opportunities that I’ve been given. If I hadn’t gone to University Centre Cochester, I don’t think I’d be where I am today.”
Richard Jacques, Film and Television Music Composer
“My Music Degree from Colchester Institute provided me with a strong foundation for my future career. The course was incredibly varied and I was able to study many different musical disciplines, both theory and practical.”
Karis Jack, BA (Hons) Musical Theatre graduate starring as Éponine in Les Misérables (West End, 2018)
“The feeling as I came off stage was incredible. It was as if everything I had worked for all those years at my drama school and at University Centre Colchester was being presented to me before my very eyes.”
Ian Puttock, FdSc Construction, graduated 2016
“The course has given me an excellent grounding for re-entering my career at a higher level and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to work in a managerial role on-site. I now work as an Assistant Site Manager for Cadman and I worked on the College’s new STEM Centre.”
Laura Harvey, BA (Hons) Photography graduate, Portrait and Documentary Photographer
“A small course, helpful tutors, excellent resources, and a good integration with the other art courses such as fine art and graphic design.”
Polly Haynes, BA (Hons) Popular Music
“I have gone on to being a gigging musician, playing at many highly regarded venues, and supporting multi-platinum selling musicians. I also co-curated events and audio-visual company ‘Pink Shed’. There we encourage and support local artists in the area.”
September Mead, BA (Hons) Creative Performance (Acting) alumni
“Learning how to devise our own work was exciting. We also had the opportunity to work with external directors and practitioners. Another huge aspect was that we got to perform our shows at many different venues including The Etcetera Theatre in Camden and Brighton Fringe Festival!”
Brett Cutbush, BA (Hons) Management of Sport graduate
“The course opened my horizons within the world of business – especially marketing. My job at GFM Holdings Ltd allows freedom to add my own influence to client briefs to create a top quality product.”
