Stepping Up offers individualised full-time Study Programmes for 16 – 19 year old students for whom English is a second language. The Colchester Institute English Language department is a nationally recognised ‘centre of Excellence’ and provides a welcoming environment for all.

Study programmes in the Foundation Studies area provide a progression route to employment, vocational study and/or apprenticeships for individuals with additional support needs and/or barriers to learning

This study programme is for students who have severe or complex learning difficulties and/or disabilities and require very high levels of additional support. The curriculum is varied and designed to enable students to make independent choices, develop their personal and social skills and to communicate effectively.

This study programme is for students who aspire to increase their independence but wish to continue their education in a highly supportive environment. Programmes aim to equip students with the skills and confidence required in order to reach their own goals for learning, life and work.

This study programme provides students with the opportunity to develop skills for independence and employment, and to work towards achievement of their own goals for learning, life and work.

The STEPS 4 Career Transition study programme aims to provide a progression route to supported employment/employment, vocational study and/or apprenticeships for individuals with additional support needs.
