CI Salons at Colchester Institute offer fantastic Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy services at very competitive prices. All services are carried out by students under the full guidance and supervision of experienced lecturers.
Our salons at Colchester and Braintree are open to the public from Monday to Friday, term time only. (Limited appointments are available in Colchester during the summer break.) It is advised that you book in advance to avoid disappointment.

We are thrilled to announce the opening of our BRAND NEW HAIRDRESSING SALON!
However, this does mean that we have now moved! Our new Hair and Beauty reception has now changed location to the CH&FS building (adjacent to the main reception entrance).
Level 1/2
These students are working towards their Level 1/2 qualification in Hairdressing. They have had thorough training on all hairdressing services before working on the public.
Level 3
These students are working towards their Level 3 in Hairdressing, having already completed Level 2. They are improving and advancing their skills.
Our treatments are offered at very competitive prices. All services are carried out by students under the full guidance and supervision of experienced beauty therapy lecturers.
Trained students offer treatments in the following areas:
Level 2 – Available at Colchester and Braintree Campus
These students are working towards their Level 2 qualification in Beauty Therapy. They have had thorough training on all beauty services before working on the public.
Level 3 – Available at Colchester Campus only
These students are working towards their Level 3 in Beauty Therapy, having already completed Level 2. They are improving and advancing their skills.

Allergy Alert Testing: We now require a skin test to be completed 48 hours prior to EVERY chemical service. Covid-19 has raised a number of unknowns, and along with it the need to ensure we are following all possible precautionary measures. CI Salons safety standards are aimed at providing the highest level of safety and security for our clients.
We regret that we are unable to welcome children under the age of 12. Children aged between 12 and 15 must be signed in by a parent/guardian (services are restricted to non-chemical only).
Parking is free to clients for the duration of their service. Please access our visitor parking via the electronic barrier, at the North Gate entrance to the campus.
Please arrive on time for your appointment and attend alone (unless you require a guardian/carer). Please report to main reception where a learner will meet you.
In the interests of safety CI Salons is now CASH FREE.
Our aim at the CI Salons is to provide a high standard of training for our learners, who are at different stages of their development. Whilst we work hard to provide a professional service, treatments may take longer than expected due to the training environment within the salons. Our reception is run by learners, so please be patient when booking appointments. All treatments are subject to availability.
