BTEC, GCSE and City and Guilds Technical Students – Post Results Service
If you’re not happy with your Exam results, there are a few options available to you. Once you have received your results, if you have concerns about your grades, you can apply for one of the awarding body’s post results services.
You must pay for these services through the online store (http://onlinestore.colchester.ac.uk/). Please click on the tabs below for further information about what services are available to you, and confirmation on fees for each of these services.

BTEC January 2025 Post Results Information

Review of Marking | This is not a remark. Someone will review your paper and make sure they agree with the marking outcomes from when it was first marked. They will not remark your paper but will check they agree it was marked correctly. | £48 per paper | Friday 4th April 2025 |
Priority Review of Marking | This service is the same as a review of marking (above) but is processed faster. | £70 per paper | Friday 4th April 2025 |

Please be aware that your grade(s) could go up or down. By paying for a post-result service, you are confirming that you are aware that your grade could go down as well as up.
Please note:Â if you apply for any of the post-results services above, and after viewing the outcome wish to appeal your results further, you must email examsofficecolchester@colchester.ac.uk within 5 days of receiving the outcome of your service.

City and Guilds Technical Qualifications Information

Review of Marking *This is for Written/Examiner Marked Exams only* | *For Written/Examiner Marked Exams only* The review of marking gives you the opportunity to question the result of an assessment marked by City & Guilds, if you believe the marking was inaccurate. It involves both a clerical check (as described in the section above) and a review of marking by an examiner. Appeals
If you wish to appeal an exam result you have received you will need to complete an Exam Result Query Form* within 5 days of receiving your exam result.
Please note, if you apply for a post-results service, and after viewing the outcome wish to appeal your results further, you must also complete an Exam Result Query Form* within 5 days of the exam board sending the outcome of your service.
It is important to remember that as a result of the appeal process your grade can go down, up or stay the same.
