Creating and workings with Templates	Templates are documents when you go straight to a blank new copy. If you are going to Open it isn’t a Template you are using
Protecting Workbooks	This allows you to protect a book, sheet or part of a sheet of your workbook

Watch Window	View one worksheet from another
Consolidate	How to consolidate several workbooks/sheets together using column/row headings

Course B - Further Formulae

Topic	Explanation
Names	Using Names in Formulas
If Statements	Allows you to affect an outcome in one cell depending on another cells contact
Lookups	Can you used to fill data or to find out information based on 1 piece of data
Date Functions	To work out date differences including holidays etc
Index and Match	Can be used to make If Statements and Lookups more flexible

Filtering	Advanced Filtering can achieve more precise data
Subtotals	Can be used to find out the total of a subset of data

Conditional Formatting	This will change the appearance of a cell – ie font colour, depending on the cell content
Using Views and Creating Reports	Makes creating a personalised table quick and easy
Pivot Tables	Extracts information from a large amount of data to show trends and highlights

Topic	Explanation
Financial Functions	Allows you to use compound interest – very useful function to demonstrate WhatIf analysis
Trends and Forecasting	Formulas to predict what will happen in the future
Goal Seek	Works a formula backwards to say what you want the answer to be and ammends other data accordingly
Scenarios	Used to show the outcome of several different situations or scenarios
Data Tables	Allows you to calculate lots of variables in the same formula and shows results in a table
